Oscar nominated Benedict Cumberbatch is the star of the film Dr. Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will air in the month of March 2022.
There are actors you are sick of seeing everywhere (ahem, Ryan Reynolds). Although Cumberbatch could fit into that category the thing that sets him apart is that the characters are so wildly different. He was in four major films this season, and only one of them was an Marvel movie (Spider-Man: No Way Home).
The Power of the Dog has Cumberbatch portraying a rancher in Montana and has earned him a nomination for Best Actor. While actor Sam Elliott has reservations about the film due to its “allusions to homosexuality” and the reality that this Western film was shot in New Zealand, Cumberbatchfirmly is adamant about his character and film. Recently, the movie was awarded the Best Picture at EE British Academy Film Award. Also known as BAFTA’s. Director Jane Campion also won Best Director, the third woman director to be awarded this award’s history.
Cumberbatch recently received his Hollywood Walk of Fame star. Cumberbatch is in the forefront of Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. have left the world of comic book movies. Marvel chief executive Kevin Feige was there to say some praise.
“Benedict has turned this character into an icon, appearing in a historic three of the top six films of all time. It’s been quite a journey,” Feige said.
Cumberbatch will have plenty to think about If he’s going to be as important in the next movies as we believe. Multiverse of Madness, directed by Spider-Man director Sam Raimi will be Cumberbatch’s character as Dr. Strange as he confronts alternate realities in the aftermath of Spider-Man: No Way Home. MCU heavyweights such as Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Baron Karl Mordo) as well as Benedict Wong (Wong) will be in the film.
It’s just like a lot of work for one person to accomplish. Cumberbatch is not in any be averse to the idea as he has agreed to four new movies and is currently filming one at this moment.
